In 004, the perfumer uses white musks, which bring roundness and staying power to the composition, creating a comforting touch. These should not be confused with "Tonkin musks," which smell of fur but are no longer used. These newer types of musks, called "white musks," offer scents of clean linen and cotton. They have nothing to do with the animalic facet of their Tonkin cousin.
