• Yuzu:

  • It's the Japanese cousin of the lemon. It lends zesty, tangy, and invigorating top notes to perfumes. It adds facets to creations and evokes the sensation of a citrus blend. This little citrus fruit is truly enjoying a surge in popularity and is finding its way into both haute parfumerie and haute pâtisserie.

• Violet leaf:

  • You might imagine a delicately floral, powdery, and perhaps slightly sweet scent, like violet candies. But make no mistake, this flower is mute, as they say in the trade. That is to say, it's impossible to extract its essence. However, perfumers use its leaves, which have green, watery, somewhat earthy, and woody notes. Violet leaf absolute is a raw material with a strong character. It can enhance and define a composition or ruin it; the secret lies in the balance of the formula and the perfumer's skill.

• Vetiver:
  • Vetiver is certainly one of our favorite raw materials. We use its roots after distillation. Each terroir imparts its own unique facets. For example, an essence from Réunion and one from Java have very different aromas!
    
    › Java: rather smoky and green.
    › Haiti: grapefruit, more bitter.
    › Reunion Island: the rarest, clear and freshest.
    
    It's one of the sophisticated base notes. Here, the perfumer uses Haitian vetiver. He creates 003 with woody, fresh, and slightly earthy scents.
